Ending - The Table

And that was the last thing that BeGee the Elf ever thought. At least, in the form of a monster that ate other monsters. As something that disrupted Reality simply by passing through it. But there was something Real behind that thing, after all.

Rebecca The Blizzard woke up somewhere else. It wasn't beside another place. It was sort of above other places. It was a room in an old wooden cabin. There was a rickety table. And it all felt good. There was food aplenty piled on plates. It was pleasantly warm. The place felt safe. And happy.

"Looks like y'were having a dream, lass." Her mother was there.

"Yeah, Momma - it felt so REAL! Like I was never gonna wake up. And it was so very strange."

"Grandma Annabelle was my auntie. Auntie and Uncle were my sister and brother. Ellie was kind of like a Ban She, but she was nice! Rachie was this fancy queen, and she had a granddaughter who was somehow my little girl. And she had a kid who was my sister, too! I had another little girl who turned into my other grandmother, who was kinda like Grandma's momma, too."

"I looked funny. I talked funny. And I couldn't find you. But everyone else was there."

"There was an evil wizard who thought he was my da, but I had a better one who really loved me! And me and Grandma Annabelle caught the wizard, stomped him flat, and burned him to ashes!"

"Sounds like you were really tough in this dream!"

"Oh yeah! I was some kind of magic person, had adventures in these really strange lands, and met all kinds of people. The wizard had a daughter who thought she was better than me, but I and my sisters sent her away. We built this wonderful place that made gifts for everyone, over the whole world!  And there was this girl who was like a walking fire, and we pretended to fight all the time, but we were really friends, and right before I woke up, she hugged me..."

"The whole thing doesn't make any sense, now..."

Snowbreeze/Brigid/Angela smiled "Dreams don't make sense. They're not supposed to. The question is, was it a good dream?"

Blizzard looked around and paused for a moment, drinking it all in. The room that the Table was in seemed far larger than she first thought. Her entire Family was there in the background, with many more people all around them. Her two grandmothers were there, talking and smiling. But they both looked much younger than the last time she'd seen them.

Ellie was sitting nearby, and she looked healthy. With orange and yellow flowers in her hair.

And there was a skinny brown haired girl girl walking towards her who looked very familiar. She had eyeglasses and a funny hat on. Her eyes sparkled with blue and purple. And like Becky and her mother, the girl had pointed ears. And she was carrying a plate of gingerbread cookies.

Blizzard smiled

"It was the BESTEST dream!"
